Matt Panella is a favorite Construction YouTuber.
Aside from all the Framing Carpentry expertise, he produces an amazing educational series in beautiful settings.
The videography alone is top-notch. I’m pumped to share his work with ya.
This video is notable because the Zip system calls for its own specific nailing pattern. Accuracy and speed is a cool thing in framing. You get the proper respect if you are able to burn through this job without having to go back and fix many shiners. (nails that shine through the other side because you missed the stud)
He checks nicely and nails down any raised nails which happens a lot depending on wood/tool/nail etc. Doublechecking 6” spacings and such, hitting Zip system field nail locations and showing the general flow of this framing task are exemplified.
See later he checks for what stud pack is behind a corner and adjusts the zig-zag pattern. The lead comes to check the specifics of this wall area’s nailing schedule and he confirms looking at the plans. Solid accountability.
This house is a nice long big of nailing off and finishing these walls. It is good practice if you have not done that yet. 10-30’ ladders make it all the more fun.
It is fun re-loading these guns too. Throughout this video, he re-loads nails. But I notice he is a fancy framer guy and is snipping off the tips of rack plastic every time he reloads? haha. Not judging but just saying it’s extra. Feels good. haha. Love all these guys.
Once you have built it all and this is the last thing to do to bring it all together and call it done...this part of the job is satisfying because it’s time to relax and practice your ninja.
Watching this process is also meditative in similar ways as ASMR.
Set my head cam up mang, lez-Go! I’m happy to see his production skills do their thing.
Matt is a solid leader and mentor of his team. Respect.
These videos are helpful for any people wanting to learn to frame.
